Using 3D scanning we can capture anatomical shapes extremely accurately. Once we have that 3D scan we can then import it to the computer where we can modify the design as we wish. We often modify this design while the patient is sitting in the chair next to us. This allows us to poke, prod, and feel the patient’s anatomy. While we are doing this the patient has the opportunity to speak with us about problem areas they commonly deal with or “hot spots” that give them a lot of pain. The 3D scanning process has improved our patient outcomes more than we could have ever imagined.
